Chapter 5
Last month we had the Bible Dedication....after 40 years of translation the Indians now have portions of the Old Testament and the whole New Testament in their own language!!!
this picture was taken on the way out to the tribe....=)
Dad and Mom....
from left to right: Uncle Stan (our Bible Translator), his wife A. Charlotte, U. Arnie (a missionary and very good friend of ours from the other tribe about 80 km who came to attend the dedication service) the couple to the right is the President of New Tribes of Brazil and his wife...we were grateful that they could attend the dedication service with us...it was a pleasure to have all of them...
I asked U. Stan to share what he thought of the time here and he wrote it down for me, i asked if i could share it on the blog and he said i could....these are his own words, here is what he wrote:

"There was a big surprise waiting for us when Charlotte and I arrived at the Krikati village, Sat. afternoon Apr. 19, 6 PM. 150-200 Indians had gathered in the open air. There were balloons strung out, and balloons in the form of 40 to represent 40 years of work on the translation. Many testimonies were given, some with tears, for the work done to complete the translation, and many words of thanks given to me and to all the missionaries. I cried as I spoke and remembered 100's of people in the U.S. and elswhere who have prayed and given toward this work. There were many tears, laughter and hugs all around. It was a meeting of joy and praise I had never seen before. The Krikati were thrilled to receive their Bibles with hugs, one by one, and told how much it meant to have the Bible in their own language."

Stan Pries.
Here is a close up picture of the Bibles....Joy, one of the Indian ladies set up the Bible's really neat...if you would like to see more pictures of the Indians and of the Bible Dedication please let me know so i can send you an invite to view the pictures on the other blog....i wish i didnt have to do it this way but due to the law here in Brazil i try and be careful about posting pictures of the Indians online so that is why i have it password protected...
Note: See the 40 in the center.

Thank you all of you who have made it possible to have the Bible in the Language...we could not have done it on our own...for those of you who have dedicated financialy...and for those who have stood behind us in prayer and for those who have just kept in contact with us and have been an encourgment to us and all the other missionaries...i want to thank you personaly from the bottom of my heart....i wish you all could have been there to see the joy on the people's faces....
