Oct/Nov Update!

Hey all!! Wow, it has been a while since I last updated...and sooo much has happened the last few months that it seems like it has been years since I have last updated...does any have that happen to you??

Well, in my last update I mentioned that I was going to California to Study at a Bible School. I had an interesting adventure that I will never forget and how I got here and God literally "held the walls of the water up for me to pass through on dry land".

I have learned so much and it has been such an awesome experience being out here and sitting in on the classes and putting to practice what we learn!

Another reason I haven't been updating is because I don't have a camera at this time to take pictures and update the blog. But! My parents and Lolly came to the States a month ago and Grandpa Godshalk, my Mom's Dad paid for them to come out and see me!! It was such a blessing to have them here and I didn't realize how much I missed home!
All sorts of goodies brought from home and Florida...it felt like an early Christmas
Lolly and I out in, Whiskytown...ehehhe...we didnt have any whisky though...=P
making memories...=)
California is really pretty place...but a bit to cold for my taste..I will be glad once spring is here!!
........
me having fun with the camera...
Dad and I...my hero..=)
.....
Lolly just got her driver's license while in Florida...she was all excited to get to drive around but Mom is hanging on to dear life...ehhe..
Having supper...
After church...
Mom, Me and Dad...
When I first got here I was totally lost with what to buy for food and everything! I missed the Brazilian food at home...So i started to make rice like home but burnt the rice the first time cuz i wasnt use to the electric stove! I didnt have a pressure cooker to make beans so my Aunt Linda from Florida brought me one and sent it with to me! Thank you A. Linda!!

Wow, so much has happen that it seems kinda like a dream. Thank you all for those who have blessed me in every way! So that I can be here and take what I learn back home! I would appreciate prayer so that I can find a job soon, it has been hard getting a job and for many people in the school too and with the economy down like it is. Next week is Thanksgiving and I will be going down to Sacramento for a week with a friend from school...not sure what I will be doing during the Holiday, Christmas break...but hopefully something good! =)

Blessings!

July/Aug./Sept.

Hey All!! It has been quite sometime since I last updated! So much has happened that it is sometimes hard to keep up with things and keep things up!! So I will try and fill you in with the latest and what has been happening.....

After the family reunion we have been on the go, in July there was a missionary training time and about 10 of our Indians went along with about 10 + guys from another tribe from another tribe in the state above us. So when they came to town we had the task and joy of taking care of them....it was a lot of work to feed 30 some mouths but God provided through many sources the stuff we needed, pans, stove, food, fuel for the stove and many other things!! It was a time investing in the lives of the Indians so they in turn can invest in other peoples lives!!

Well, last month I received my diploma!! It is weird finishing high school and to not having the pressure of having to study....reallyyyyyyyy weird!!
Lolly and I studying algebra....fun...anyone wanna join us?? ehhehe...
During the month of July when the water's go down there are beaches in the middle of the river....we had fun going down there to celebrate a day before my birthday day...=)
Lolly is not a morning person if you havent notice...ehhehe
me....picture is a bit dark but that is me...=)
us...Mom, I, Lolly and Dad....
waiting for the food to come...
Lolly and I....
Just a shot to be creative....=)
Oli and I...a girl I have been getting to know and is really special to me...=)
Lolly and Gil....a guy who is special to her.... ;)

I know some of you have heard that I was going to the States to do Bible School and up till a few days ago I wasn't able to nail down passages. It has been amazing to see how God has opened the doors even when it seem like there was no possible way it could have worked out. Given a scholarship and the nugging from God, I decided to keep taking a step at a time until God closed the doors completely. Many times I wanted to throw the towel in, after discovering my American Passport expired. It seemed like there was no way I could make it there in time only if the school allowed me to be a week late. So we kept taking one step at a time, I went to Brasilia to renew my passport on the 2nd of Sept. And should be able to pick it up any day between the 16th-23rd.

School started on the 16th but they allowed me to be a week late. I explained the situation to the school that I would not be able to get there until the 23rd or 24th of Sept. they allowed the exception of me being late.

So this Sunday I will be catching a bus to go to Anapolis, GO, and will arrive there on Monday at my A. Grace's house and I will be seeing Grammy and Grandpa Bailey. I will be spending the night there and then be going on to Brasilia to pick up my passport (Lord willing it will be already there!!). Then I will go to the airport to catch my flight to Sao Paulo. My flight leaves Sao Paulo at 10:10 pm (not sure what time zone it is for!). I will get into Redding, California on the 24th.

As to where I am going to stay I don't know yet but God has brought me this far, He will certianly provide the rest of the way. I apreciated many of you who have been praying for me and I will continue to covet your prayers during this time of transition, settling in, (it has been 5 years since I have been in the States!), looking for a job and for protection on the trip!!

While out there I dont know how often I will be able to update my blog but hopefully I will be able to now and then!!

Blessings!

Family Reunion of 2008 June

Hey all!! It has been quite some time since i last updated but in the last post i mentioned about and up coming family reunion...the celebration of my Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary!! I tried to put up the pictures sooner but i havent gotten around to it until today....so much has been going on that it has been hard to get around to it with many things to do , places to go and people to see...=) but i havent forgotten you to drop you in to the activities of our lives!! Hopefully i will be able to put another post up soon with the parties and stuff going on this month of July!!

It was hard for me to pic out of all the pictures but i tried the best i could to pick out the pictures...there was so much more i could have put in but my time is not unlimited and i am sure yours isnt either....
Roger and Ellen Bailey....Grammy had eye surgery and her eyes are sensitive at this time so that is why she is wearing sunglasses....we have a 'cool' Grandmother...ehheeh...I love you both Grandpa and Grammy and Thank the Lord for the influence you guys have in my life!!
Here is the whole family that was there!! I went down to develop a picture and had it framed...and the framing place the people asked...
"Is that your family and your Grandparents in the front?"
"Yep," i replied.
"Wow!! What a nice family!"
"Yeah that was only half of the family there that day," i said.
"You serious?!" they were shocked that that was only half of the family there in the picture, ehehehe.
All the cousins that were able to make it....
All the 'married' cousins!
Ahahahah, dunno what we all were laughing about there but i figured it was funny to put up...
Well, um...sorry to say this but all of us here arent really 'available' but lets put it this way....These are the single cousins left in the whole Bailey Clan...=)
From Left to Right: Emerson, Denis, Lolly, Dan, Emily, Eric and Edson...
Eheheheh, are they trying to get the single cousins attention or are they trying to get the kids great grandkids attention below?! ehehehhe....
These are all the great grandkids...and there are 27 in all!!! But only these could make it...
Here are the 5 original kids with their spouses....From Left to Rigth, Back Row: Roger, Tim, David, Dave Fread and Sandro. Middle Row: Linda, Faith, Diana, Grace, Hope and of course Roger and Ellen in the Front row...
Us!!
Here are different shots of us...Lolly and Emily.
ehheeh, it was a great time to be together!!!
we made some wonderful memories....
and of course we Bailey's never run out of things to do!!! eheheh...
some just gotta stick those fingers up...;)
Every night we got together and had time to talk sing and of course do our famous skits of when the kids were growing up!!
Every time we get together we always play soccer!
and of course the most dreaded thing...dishes!! but we all had 'bonding' time doing it together!! =)
Of course we couldnt resist going out to eat....
Sometimes i dont see my cousins every 3-5 years but when we do come together we have great times and never lose a min. in everything we do!
the great grandkids having fun...
of course every time we get together to eat we are always bumping into someone, squeezing past someone and saying, excuse me..ehehe...but it was worth it all!!

I will try to get the other post up some time soon but will let you know if you are signed up for the newsletter...if now just put your email address and name in the box up on the left you will get and email every time i update the blog!!

Blessings,

P.S. Thanks to all those who once again took the time to email me with all the comments!! It meant a lot!!

Update for March/April/May

Hey ALL!! Wow, it has been over 3 months since i last updated......Right now i am in the state of São Paulo (SP), over a couple 1000 miles from home....how i ended up here this long was unexpected....eheh...here is how it goes....

After Darel, Bella and Lissa's visit came to an end and they had to go back to their home in Rio Grande do Sul, the southeren state of Brazil. They had to make a stop to take care of his driver's license and i went with them to try and get my driver's license in another city not far from where he had to do his...i wasnt able to get it in the end, =/....then i took advantage of how close i was to family, the Rancans, in SP and we came down, Darel, Bella, Lissa and I to visit the Rancans...i was only going to stay for 5 days but 5 days turned into 9 weeks!!! After Darel spent 3 days here he went on the rest of the way to his home and i spent a few more days and my Aunt Hope invited me to stay here and finish up my High Schooling by correspondance here. There is so much going on at home and much traveling back and forth from the tribe that it is very exaushting to study like i need to, to finish up....and here in SP i will be able to consentrate on my studies and get them done...i am excited because there is only a little bit more to finish up!!

My Aunte Hope also invited Lolly to come down to study too....so 2 weeks ago she arrived and she brought her camera so that is how i now have pictures to post...=)

In June we have a family reunion which will be a celebration of my Grandparents 60th aniversary!!
